a. No person shall enter or remain within seventy-five feet of a voting center while the polls are open or while any person is in line to vote, or within the immediate area where voting is being conducted in the voting center, with the following exceptions:

1. Election Officials and persons authorized by Election Officials to enter the voting center to keep order and enforce the law;

2. Persons there for the purpose of voting, any minor children accompanying a voter, and any person accompanying a voter to provide assistance;

3. One representative of each candidate, if appointed by the candidate in accordance with Section 12-210;

4. Minors voting in, and persons supervising or working in, a simulated election; and

5. When voting is conducted in a public facility, persons there for the purpose of using the public facility may remain in the facility, outside the immediate area where voting is being conducted, but shall not interfere in any way with the Election Officials, the voting process, or engage in electioneering.

b. For each voting center, the City Clerk shall furnish three written notices with the heading: "Seventy-Five Foot Limit" and written underneath that, the following:

Except for the purpose of voting, no person shall be allowed to remain inside these limits while the polls are open except the Election Officials and candidates’ representatives allowed by law. Each voter, after having cast the voter’s ballot, shall at once retire outside the seventy-five foot limit. Any violation of these provisions is a misdemeanor.

c. Before opening the polls, the Inspector shall post the above-mentioned notices at seventy-five feet in different directions from the entrance of the building in which the election is being held. (Ord. No. G-5390, § 1, 2009; Ord. No. G-5560, § 1, 2010; Ord. No. G-5737, 2012)
