a. The City Council shall appoint one or more Early Ballot Boards to serve at places to be designated by the City Clerk to process or tally early ballots.

b. Each member of the Early Ballot Board shall be a qualified elector of the City. The Inspector of each Early Ballot Board shall be Chair of the Board. If necessary, the Council may appoint qualified electors of the City as Clerks to assist the Early Ballot Boards.

c. The City Clerk shall provide to the Early Ballot Boards, at the expense of the City, all the supplies necessary to process the early ballots.

d. Early Ballot Board Members and the Clerks appointed to assist them shall be compensated for each day actually spent processing early ballots.

e. If during the processing of early ballots the City Clerk determines that the number of Early Ballot Boards and Clerks appointed by the Council is insufficient to process the early ballots cast, the City Clerk may appoint additional Boards or Clerks.

f. If during the processing of early ballots the City Clerk determines that the Council appointed more Boards or Clerks than are needed to process the early ballots cast, the City Clerk may dismiss any unnecessary Boards or Clerks. (Ord. No. G-5390, § 1, 2009; Ord. No. G-5560, § 1, 2010)
