The Police Department shall charge a fee, in addition to any other fees prescribed by law, in the amount of ten dollars to recover the cost of criminal history background information checks which by law are conducted before transfer of a firearm to an individual who is not a federal firearms licensee. Until July 1, 1994, the fee shall be waived for criminal history background information checks performed in connection with the redemption of pawned firearms at a licensed pawnshop or the transfer of firearms to a gunsmith for the purpose of repair. This waiver shall not apply to any firearm pawned after February 28, 1994. (Ord. No. G-3738, § 1)
